Description: The “SmartWye”™ family of PS/2 and USB Keyboard Encoders / Emulators make it easy to connect custom control panels, switches, and keypads to the PS/2 or USB keyboard port of a PC, by converting contact closures to standard PC keyboard codes. In addition to the switches, a standard PC keyboard may also be connected, and can be plugged in or out at anytime. All "SmartWye" PS/2 and USB Keyboard Encoders / Emulators fully debounce switch closures and openings, generate the appropriate key “make” and “break” scan codes, and then send them to the PC. On standard models, only one “make” code is sent for each switch closure, regardless of the time the switch is held closed. Type-O-Matic models (model number ends with -T) provide the key hold and repeat function common on standard PC keyboards, and respond to the OS settings for Type-O-Matic. Key presses from an optionally connected keyboard, are cleanly multiplexed with any switch generated keyboard data. All models utilize Vetra's advanced keyboard emulation technology which provides error free boot up to the connected PC and operates transparently with all IBM compatible PC's, PC operating systems, and applications.
