Vetra Systems is proud to announce a line of intelligent USB workstation splitters-multiplexers. These new, unique USB products allow only one workstation to have access to the PC, preventing unwanted input from the other workstation as might occur when all input devices have access to the PC. The workstation splitters effectively form an intelligent, switched USB hub. The USB-882 "MegaMux"™ family of USB Splitters-Multiplexers also have Vetra's patented, unique TruReflekt™ USB keyboard and mouse enumeration technology. The keyboard and mouse are not just emulated, as in most competitive products, but truly enumerated. This means that all special features that may be present in the keyboard and mouse are conveyed to the PC, and are available to the user during device operation. It also means that a workstation can consist of any Human Interface Devices (HIDs), and is not limited to just keyboards and mice. The USB-882-KM connects two workstations, each consisting of one USB keyboard and one USB mouse to one PC. Only one of the workstations is active at a time, preventing unwanted input from the other workstation. Either workstation can be the active one. Any input from either workstation selects it and makes it "active". It remains "active" until no further input is detected for a period of 5 seconds. It then relinquishes control, and the whole process starts again. The USB-882-KMV connects two workstations, each consisting of one USB keyboard, one USB mouse and one video monitor to one PC. It operates similarly to the model above. The USB-882-KMV2 connects two workstations, each consisting of one USB keyboard, one USB mouse and dual-head video monitors to one PC. It operates similarly to the two models above. All of the above models are available as the -KS model. Here, the active workstation is selected by a key switch. - This means that a continuous stream of ASCII characters at up to 19,200 baud can be converted to USB keyboard codes. The high rate is especially useful in bar code reader applications, allowing a scan to be converted to USB key codes at full scanning speed.  We have given our line of PC Keyboard & Mouse Port Terminators and our PS/2 - Serial Mouse Converters a facelift. We have eliminated the dedicated captive cables in favor of a more flexible and scalable configuration. This change reduces the number of models while providing the user with more options and easier product upgrade. And in addition, the price on some models have been reduced. The "old" style models will still be supplied while we are phasing in the "new" models. Colored DIN connectors: As some of our existing customers may have noticed, we have discontinued use of the black 6 pin mini DIN connector in favor of the industry standard purple (keyboard) and green (mouse) connectors. All Vetra products with PS/2 connections will now be supplied with these connectors. |
