Model VIP-912-FS2 includes one dual action footswitch.
Model VIP-912-FS3 includes two single action footswitches.
Model VIP-912-FS4 includes one single and one dual action footswitch.
Model VIP-912-FS5 includes two dual action footswitches.

PREPARE FOR OPERATION

ALL CONNECTIONS SHOULD BE MADE WITH THE PC POWER OFF!!

1. Connect Footswitch to Controller Unit: All footswitches are connected to the Controller Unit by plugging in its cable into either one of the two 5 pin DIN female connectors on the Controller unit. If the customer has purchased the Controller unit only and is providing their on footswitches then pins 1 and 4 must be wired to a normally open pair of contacts to provide the appropriate "FS1" or "FS3" contact closure. Again if the customer is supplying their own dual action footswitch, pins 1 and 4, and pins 2 and 3 must be wired to a normally open pair of contacts to provide the appropriate "FS1/2" or "FS3/4" contact closures.

2. Connect the Keyboard to Controller Unit: Use the keyboard's captive cable to connect the keyboard to the female 5 or 6 pin DIN connectors on the Controller unit marked "KBD IN". The keyboard will be powered from the PC via the Controller unit and via the keyboard cable.

3. Connect Controller Unit to the PC: Use the male-male PC keyboard extension cable supplied with the Controller unit to connect the Controller unit to the PC's keyboard port. This cable should be connected from the connector marked "TO PC KBD PORT" to the PC. The Controller unit is powered from the PC via this cable. An adapter is provided for connection to an AT style PC. The Controller unit should be connected to the PC only while the PC is powered down.

FOOTSWITCH CODE SELECTION

The key codes produced by the footswitch are usually set at the factory as specified by the customer. It is possible to change this code to any key if your requirements change in the future.

To change key codes, open the Controller unit by removing the two recessed screws on the bottom of the unit. With the cover of the Controller unit removed, locate Bank A and Bank B on the electronics board of the Controller unit. There are
four sets of jumpers on the board (one set of Bank A and Bank B jumpers for each footswitch). The position of the jumpers determines the key code for each footswitch.
