Description:
The USB-802-KMV-TS series "MegaTouch"™ 2 Port USB Touch Screen KVM Switch allows one USB keyboard, USB mouse and one USB touch screen video monitor to control two USB PCs or Servers. It is the ideal solution for USB touch technology applications requiring access to two computers, without the clutter and expense of additional keyboards, mice and touch screen monitors. The USB-802-KMV-TS series supports all popular USB keyboards, USB mice, and USB touch screen monitors, including those from 3M, ELO, and is unique in the industry in fully supporting the HP Compaq L2105tm Touch Screen Monitor with multi-touch capability.
The USB-802-KMV-TS series of 2 Port USB Touch Screen KVM Switches incorporate Vetra's advanced, patented TruReflekt™ USB enumeration technology. All devices are truly enumerated, not just emulated as in many competitive products. True USB device functionality is retained through the switch. Connected keyboards and mice enumerate correctly, devices may be "hot-plugged" at any time, and the connected PCs may be powered up and down in any order. The unique, patented architecture of the USB-802-KMV-TS series 2 Port USB Touch Screen KVM Switch ensures error free boot up and device driver loading for each connected PC, and allows the MegaTouch to operate transparently with all USB compatible PCs, including iMAC's, PC operating systems, and applications.
The USB-802-KMV-TS series 2 Port USB Touch Screen KVM Switch comes in a variety of standard configurations, is compact in design, easy to install and operate, and is ideally suited for desktop use. For applications requiring rack mounting, an optional 2U height rack mount tray is available (see Accessories). The USB-802-KMV-TS series is also available as a Dual-Head USB Touch Screen Switch and as a USB Touch Screen Monitor Switch (touch screen monitors only, no keyboard or mouse) for applications where only a touch screen is needed.

Operation:
On all USB-802-KMV-TS series "MegaTouch"™ USB Touch Screen KVM Switch models the active PC is selected via a keyboard "hot-key" sequence ( [scroll lock] + [1] for PC1, or [scroll lock] + [2] for PC2 ) or by a push button(s) located on the front panel of the USB Touch Screen KVM Switch. Direct Entry models (as indicated by -DE in the model number) have an individual push button for each PC channel. Non-DE models have a single push button (NEXT PC) which toggles between the two connected PCs.
On all models, the selected PC channel is indicated by an illuminated LED on the front. Additional LED's indicate which PCs are powered. Upon selection, the intelligence in the MegaTouch correctly sets the keyboard's status indicators, CAPS, SCROLL, and NUM Lock, as these settings may be different for each PC. The keyboard and/or mouse may be disconnected and re-connected (hot-plugged), or exchanged at any time without having to power down the connected PC's.

Connections:
Standard USB type A-B cables
are used to connect the MegaTouch™ to the USB ports of the PCs,
and standard HDD15 Male-female video cables are used to connect
to the video ports of PCs. Using standard cables eliminates the
need to replace an entire multi-port cable if one connection
is damaged or fails, thereby reducing the overall cost of maintainence.
You may use your cables, or ours (see Accessories
). The captive cables that are part of the keyboard, mouse, and
monitor are used to connect these devices to the MegaTouch.

Dimensions for the USB-802-KMV-TS and USB-802-KMV-TS-DE USB Touch Screen KVM Switch are 2.63
in H x 6.06 in W x 6.32 in D (6.68 cm x 15.39 cm x 16.05 cm).
The housings are molded of black GE Cycolac-T, a high impact
ABS material, and is internally shielded with an acrylic base
nickel coating for RFI attenuation. Front and rear panels are
fabricated from .062 in thick aluminium and finished with low
gloss paint. All USB-802-KMV-TS series USB Touch Screen KVM switch models
are powered from an external power supply which is supplied with
the unit. FCC and CE marked. Shipping weight is less than 3 lbs
per unit. |
