The USB-844-BC "MegaCast"
USB Keyboard Multiplier / Broadcaster routes the output of a
single PC keyboard, to as many as four PCs simultaneously. It
is idealy suited for applications requiring redundant keyboard
input, such as the testing and administration of multiple PCs,
data entry, and for demonstrations and instruction. The USB-844-BC
Keyboard Multiplier / Broadcaster is compact, easy to install,
and supports all popular USB keyboards.
At the heart of the USB-844-BC "MegaCast" USB
Keyboard Multiplier / Broadcaster is Vetra's advanced, patented
technology, which provides and supports true USB functionality
through the Broadcaster. The connected keyboard enumerates correctly
and may be "hot-plugged" at any time, and the connected
PCs may be powered up and down in any order. This unique architecture
of the USB-844-BC "MegaCast" USB Keyboard Multiplier
/ Broadcaster ensures error free boot up and device driver loading
for each connected PC, and allows the Broadcaster to operate
transparently with all USB
compatible PCs, PC operating systems, and applications.For applications
requiring rack mounting, an optional 2U height rack mount tray
is available (see Accessories ).

OPERATION:
After all connections are made
and the PCs are powered up, the front panel power indicator will
illuminate indicating that the unit is ready to transmit USB
keyboard data. Any keystroke from the connected USB keyboard
will be routed to USB ports of all the connected PCs simultaneously.
All shifted keyboard functions will work properly, however, due
to design constraints, keyboard back link commands issued from
the PC may not be passed to the connected keyboard. What this
means is that if you set the CAPS LOCK button on your keyboard,
the keyboard will generate shifted (capital) characters, but
the CAPS LOCK indicator LED on the connected keyboard may not
be illuminated.
