Connect Two PC Keyboards and/or Two PS/2 Mice to One PC with The "Splice" series of KVM Splitters / Multiplexers

Description: The "Splice" series of KVM Splitters / Multiplexers and Wedges allow the simultaneous use of various combinations of two keyboards and / or two PS/2 mice with one PC. These compact, inexpensive KVM Splitters / Multiplexers are an ideal solution for applications requiring dual input of devices into one PC, and where device / workstation arbitration is not needed. Keyboards and mice need not be connected to the Multiplexer at PC boot up since all "Splice" series KVM Splitters / Multiplexers utilize Vetra's advanced keyboard and mouse emulation technology, which provides error free boot up and mouse driver loading to the connected PC. Keyboards and mice may be plugged in or out (hot-plugged) of the Splice units at any time. When a device is hot-plugged, the Splitter / Multiplexer recognizes the presence of a new device, and programs it from internal memory with set up parameters commanded by the host PC. In the case of keyboards, operating the NUM, CAPS, or SCROLL Lock keys on either connected keyboard sets the corresponding indicators on all connected keyboards.

When the PC is powered up, the VIP-357 provides all proper keyboard responses for error free boot-up, even without any keyboards being connected. After boot-up, each keyboard can provide input to the PC at all times. Keyboards may be plugged and unplugged (hot-plugged) at any time. When a hot-plug occurs, the keyboard is automatically updated from VIP-357's internal memory with set up parameters commanded by the host PC. VIP-357-PM "MiceSplice"™

VIP-357-PM “MiceSplice”™ PS/2 Mouse Splitter / Multiplexer allows connection of two PS/2 compatible mice to one PC. When the PC is powered up, the VIP-357-PM provides all proper mouse responses for error free boot-up, even without any mice being connected. After boot-up, each mouse can provide input to the PC at all times. Mice may be plugged and unplugged (hot-plugged) at any time. When a hot-plug occurs, the mouse is automatically updated from VIP-357-PM's internal memory with set up parameters commanded by the host PC. Both mice are always set to the same parameters. Connections: Standard 6 pin mini DIN male-male 6 foot cables are used to connect the Multiplexers to the keyboard and mouse ports of the PC. These cables are supplied with their associated units. The captive cables that are part of the keyboards and mice are used to connect these devices to the Multiplexers. Adapters for 5 pin DIN style keyboards and / or PC ports and extension cables for short run extensions are available (see Accessories ). Specifications: Dimensions for Models VIP-357 & VIP-357-PM are 1.5” H x 5.08” W x 5.25” D (3.81 cm x 12.90 cm x 13.34 cm). All housings are molded of black GE Cycolac-T, a high impact ABS material, and are internally shielded with an acrylic base nickel coating for RFI attenuation. Front and rear panels are fabricated from .062 in thick aluminium and finished with low gloss paint. All models are powered from the connected PC's keyboard and mouse ports, so no external power supply is required. FCC and CE marked. Shipping weight is less than 2 lbs per unit.
