Description: The VIP-912-MP Footswitch System allows hands free entry of left and right mouse clicks to the PC, by operating one or two compact footswitches. Footswitch operated mouse click entry provides an excellent alternative to hand clicking in applications where frequent and repetitive mouse clicks are required. It can help in reducing the hand-wrist fatique and injuries often associated with prolonged periods of mouse use. The VIP-912-MP is a flexible system that can be configured in a variety of ways depending on your application. The left and right mouse clicks can be controlled by individual footswitches, (left foot for left click, right foot for right click) or with one foot by using a dual-action footswitch. VIP-912-MP utilizes Vetra's advanced mouse emulation technology which provides error free boot up and operates with all popular mice, PC's, PC operating systems, and applications. Operation: A single footswitch (VIP-912-SW) can be connected to either one of the 5 pin DIN female captive cables on the Controller unit. The cable with the colored band corresponds to the left mouse button, and the unmarked cable corresponds to the right mouse button. A typical application would be to have two individual single-action footswitches connected and generating the left mouse click with the left foot and the right mouse click with the right foot. If the dual-action footswitch (VIP-912-SW2) is used, it is connected to the cable with the colored band. Pressure applied in one direction or the other generates the associated left or right mouse click. This can be useful for applications where the operator is standing. Each time a footswitch closure is generated, the corresponding mouse click is sent to the PC. All footswitch closures are de-bounced to prevent unwanted multiple clicks, and full operation of the connected mouse is maintained at all times.

Connections:

A 6 pin mini DIN male-male extension cable (provided with Controller unit) is used to connect the VIP-912-MP Controller unit to the PS/2 mouse port of the PC. The captive cable of the mouse is used to connect it to the Controller unit. The footswitches connect to the controller unit via the 5 pin DIN female captive cables on the Controller unit.
