INTRODUCTION

The USB-844 "MegaCast"™ USB Keyboard Broadcaster allows one USB non hub keyboard to control up to four PC's. The output of the keyboard is routed simultaneously to all connected and powered on PC's. The keyboard must be connected directly to the USB-844 and not have any built-in, or on-board, hub. All models of the USB-844 come with the VIP-210 power supply.

Note: The "MegaCast" does not come with USB extension cables. They may be ordered from Vetra separately.

INSTALLATION

Before connecting PC's to the Broadcaster, make sure the Broadcaster is powered by its Power Supply! The PC's may be powered or not when you connect them to the Broadcaster. Keyboard, mouse and video monitor may be connected to the Broadcaster at any time. Do not power down the Broadcaster while any PC is connected to the Broadcaster!

There are two main steps to connect the Broadcaster:

1. Connect PC's to Broadcaster unit:

Connect any available USB input on the PC's to the Broadcaster using USB A-B cables. Connect PC #1's USB port to the backpanel connector of the Broadcaster marked "PC1". Connect PC's #2, #3, and #4 USB ports to the appropriate backpanel connectors of the Broadcaster marked "PC2", "PC3" and "PC4". The Broadcaster will operate with less than all four PC's connected.

2. Connect Keyboard to Broadcaster unit:

The USB keyboard (non hub version) is connected to the Broadcaster at the backpanel marked "KBD IN".

OPERATION

Before making any connections to the PC's, connect the external power supply to the Power Jack, marked "+5VDC IN", on the back panel of the Broadcaster. The Broadcaster should be powered up first before any of the PC's are powered up.
